Using iPADs For ELL SupportSeo-Whi Kwon |
Why Ipads?
Apple released the first iPad in 2010, and the adoption of iPads has been increasing quickly (Nguyen et al., 2015).
iPads are being used by designers, educators, and businesses from all over the world and in some cases, they are replacing computers and laptops. Video editing, graphic design, VR integration, and music composing are just a few of the many things that can be done with an iPad.
I have been using an iPad since 2013, when I was an undergraduate student. I loved the idea of carrying one device to most of my schoolwork instead of having to carry multiple notebooks, binders, and even textbooks to the library to study. I quickly became familiar with organizing my school work and taking notes with my iPad and I have now implemented it in my professional life. My iPad has been a part of my journey in becoming an educator and I am confident to say that I will continue to use it every day.
With this project, I wanted to explore more in detail how iPads can be used to support ELL or ESL students.
Educator to educator, I hope you can take away something from it! :)
Enjoy.
